No records broken, but it'll do.

Intel “Optane” surplus 16GB NVME SSDs are <€4 on Aliexpress. Time to replace a couple Raspberry Pi boot drives!
(Apparently these can be fakes, but it’s better than MicroSDs, so I’m not complaining)

How many millions of MicroUSB connectors do we think TI is still sitting on?
This is one of their newer dev kits (May 2024!)

IDK, there is a definitive difference between Lossless and compressed for Apple music. Apple's had it for a while no?
3/6 were relatively easy choices, but the genre plays a role.

The two I got wrong I chose the lowest bit-rate which is interesting. Apple Airpods Max.

For no reason at all, I was looking at Paper Guillotines. (I can't find reasonably priced A7 paper here in Portugal)

This beast is 325 EUR... and weighs 17KG!

My kiddo’s been struggling with anxiety since day one.

I’m not lying if I say what happened today would have blown my mind a year ago.

Super proud of this little guy.
(He’s about 4/5m up in the air here)

Google is not even trying anymore.

This is how you buy a Vidaa based "smart" TV and get the discount, minus all the ad nonsense.
Pihole to the rescue!
The funny thing is that Netflix is not even signed in, and has never been opened on the TV, but it's been hit 22000 times in the last 24hrs. (logs-netflix-com).

Woke up early and took the kids to see the sunrise. Hot chocolate after. It was 2°C!
10/10; doing it again.

Almost an inverse square relationship cost/performance wise.

This is the only valid form for a game tutorial. Video tutorials are evil 😅. 15mins of fluff for 1s of info.

My Switch 2 decided it’s a spicy pillow.
Got a refund since no-one has stock here in Portugal
🥲

I’m not nervous; you’re nervous!

After a long day of debugging this finally works.
Turns out Nordic’s SDK is… odd.
Newer versions won’t compile their samples, and the nRF5340 is tricky with it’s configuration if you don’t use the DCDC stuff.
I softbricked it, but JFlash came to the rescue.
Their ecosystem is a bit fragmented IMHO.

Happiest I’ve been about receiving a packet in a while.

It’s nice when your tools are not actively undermining you.

On a lighter note - since I refused them cookies, the local Tech outlet here in PT, Worten, refuses to give me recommendations based on my purchase and browsing history. Pretty cheeky if you ask me.

WTF Nintendo.
I keep my switch in a TV console. It's behind a door.
Using the remote to wake it is a core usability feature.

I was hoping to avoid buying another Pro controller. 😔

Sometimes things don’t go to plan.

CAD goggles are real. I honestly thought this would be an easier fix.

The first one took me two hours to figure out.
The fix requires; inductor removal, cutting two traces I can barely see without magnification, and a 0.1mm bodge wire with UV glue.

It’s so great to wake up to an effective 3% reduction in my salary. I expect it to bleed more today.
It dropped 0.5% while I was typing this.

A reminder to check your Gerbers prior to production submission.
A DFM check was using the incorrect part at the assembly house, and I made the pads bigger to fit. I missed the short in the rush to get things through.

32 threads go brrrrrrr (9950X3D)

(Just copying files and moving the NAS backup before I format the boot drive)

I just got VERY lucky.

I had two AMD 9070XTs in my cart for €857 & €808, and before checking out I did another search. Found another model for €789 - which is almost MSRP in PT!

Checked something after buying and the same card is €994!!!

Also: algo driven pricing is nuts; non-XT is €46 MORE!
