Opinion: As Carney pushes major projects, he must heed a cautionary tale from Canada’s past
No doubt there is room to streamline approval processes, but there must be enough rigour so future developments don’t leave behind environmental liabilities

@ruralcolonialns.bsky.social Have you heard Devon Church's "Fall Like Lightning"? Think you'd dig it. As a critique of the attention economy it reminds me a little of some Radiohead and Nick Cave, but a little of Tom Wait's "Step Right Up" somehow too.

Any of you fine folk have familiarity w Arundel MS 66 at the BL, sometimes called Henry VII's book of astrology? Trying to help a student interested in a transcription, and secondary literature on it. BL's limited current catalogue isn't helpful & surprisingly little shows up in usual searches.

Super unhelpful form/email, refund, from the PRO about page check request I made 2 weeks ago for an HCA folder I'd like photographed: your document is unavailable/lost/out with a reader. Ah, well, which is it? if it's the latter why wouldn't you just wait a few more days? Staff shortages no doubt.

@drleonj.bsky.social You’ll be pleased to hear that centuries of evolution on the perilous tundra came to fruition on our morning walk with Big Yoda sniffing out a wayward bag of fresh buns. It was so dark he managed to scarf one down before I saw what he had. He is very pleased with himself.
