My job deals with every walk of life. I have interactions that involve non-English speakers/interpreters. It's not uncommon for those folks to end up thanking me for treating them like a normal goddamn human being for once.

Our power has been out since noon-ish. We are lucky because our house is heated from a woodstove and we can hook up a generator to power the whole house.
Usually hooking up the generator makes the power come back on.

Last night's dream: A study was done that showed doctors took better care of people they developed an emotional connection with and my job was basically matchmaker. Now I'm giving the concept *way* too much thought and it's making me dislike society more as I contemplate the ways it'd go bad. 😑

Not sure if anyone has said this yet but I'm thinking these AI techbros are living the colonizer slave-master mindset. They want to make something in the image of a human, that can think and talk and hopefully (for them, not me) feel as a human does. Then make it an unfree laborer. A slave.

Our dog is out here making good use of the forever rain.
Gave Cash the mastiff a water buffalo trachea. He ran around with it excitedly for a while before taking it outside and leaving it in the rain. Maybe forty minutes later or something he wanted out again. He retrieved the trachea, softened by the rain, and consumed it. What a clever fella!
