I looked into the media hysteria around a trans woman allegedly competing in the Boston Marathon yesterday. What I found was that every single anti-trans headline about the issue could be traced to a single person. It's 2025 & media literacy is dead.

Hi there! Because there’s no nonbinary category-hope this helps! I was also assigned female at birth and I’ve competed in the women’s category my entire career. I’m just asking for people to use they/them pronouns when referring to me- it’s really not that deep. Most decent humans can understand it👍

Hi there! Because there’s no nonbinary category-hope this helps! I was also assigned female at birth and I’ve competed in the women’s category my entire career. Part of loving someone is holding them accountable for their actions in a respectful and productive way -which is different from shaming them.
I believe harassing Shelby isn’t productive. That doesn’t mean I, and many others in this sport, won’t expect accountability.
