When I was in the translation team for @nightlfy.bsky.social 's Dragon Quest +, I took it upon myself to draw some of the original items in the NES manuals watercolor style. They weren't meant to be used anywhere, but I'd love a chance to do more of that kind of stuff.

Unbeknownst to me until yesterday, DQ fan in China, AlphaDreams, finished a localization of DQ+ a couple of months ago. He told me that It was very well received in his community. 👏 He made improvements and even plans on adding new content.

On this day, 38 years ago, Dragon Quest was released in Japan. It laid the groundwork for JRPGs and without it my life would undoubtedly be different.

I would like to begin sharing some "Cutting Room Floor" stuff for DQ+
If you have played through Dragon Quest + you have encountered the World Gate. One such world that was scrapped would even change the battle system. It would have been a Final Fantasy bonus world.

One visual improvement in 1.0.5 is that item counts will change color to yellow if you've reached the maximum amount of that item you can carry.
