As I got older I get more central left not right wing.
I've teamed up with the hippies now

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face

Views are not my own, they belong to everyone

"Celsius 233: the temperature at which book paper burns." The 1955 Danish translation, with title converted to centigrade, represents one of the first foreign language editions of Fahrenbeit 451. All other Latin alphabet foreign language editions have been published with the original title restored

My copy, bottom row, second in from the right.
Great book, not a long read but so inciteful.
“The books are to remind us what asses and fools we are.”
Ray Bradbury, “Fahrenheit 451,” published on this day in 1953

It's going to be interesting to see how correct this is.
Private Eye doing an excellent job of predicting the forthcoming budget headlines in each paper… showing just how ridiculous they can all be.
Top prizes - *of course* - to the Telegraph, Mail, Times and Express.

As the EU is the only body to seem to have power over the robber barons... sorry tech bros and their companies I want EU to Legislate that;

We can, with a simple button turn AI off all the devices (phones, computers,TVs etc) that we own.

It's true spy ware and very annoying (clippy)

Great alt text.
A big thank you to @edzitron.com for giving time to the translation profession in part 1 of #betteroffline this week.

Just to prove the point that some clients just don’t care about quality, I offer up this example found by a colleague’s sister on her blood pressure cuff - on a *medical device*

Harry Enfield and Ronnie Corbett's "My Blackberry is not working" sketch. God, it's *exquisite*. Not a line out of place, everything works beautifully and there's some free Harry *almost* corpsing thrown in as well. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAG3...

Another one for you
‘Nickname’ is not ‘nick’ + ‘name.’

It was originally ‘ekename.’

‘Eke’ was the Middle English word for “also” or “in addition.”

Since ‘ekename’ began with a vowel, people used ‘an’ before it.

Over time, 'an ekename' became 'a nickname.'

A very special #CursedCarol for a very special day.

Happy 80th birthday, Sir John Rutter.

Thanks for your ceaseless championing of choral music, your many decades of bringing joy to singers and listeners alike, and your many, many key changes.

Astonishingly, a party with 18 times as many MPs as Reform has received one-third less coverage on BBC News at 10.

So much bollox on the media atm, all about you know who,
4 days ago it was "WHO?"

While I agree it's people that kill people I would like to add

It`s very hard to kill someone from 400 yards way with a knife.

That country is very looney and getting worst by the day.

I miss the British small hot, smoky, blasting the doors off concert halls /pubs
I no longer live in the UK but my feeling is they are not so common anymore.
And yes I know this is not the UK but the feel is the same.

Why is this immigrate been given headlines again. He moved to another cuntry to protect his millions.
And the MSM keeps giving them oxygen and does not call them out. They are so fucking fucked.

I have always though that flag waving was not very "British"
The only time was for national celebrations i.e. jubilees and national days.
Then to be taken down quickly the next day as it's all a bit Embarrassing.

Which is now what I feel when I see the fat moronic gammons.

Embarrassing.
