James Webb Satellite took a fantastic shot of the Planet Saturn with it's Near Infrared Camera (NIRCam) and the Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI). This is just an Amazing shot that shows the planet and the rings in brilliant detail.

Out of curiosity, can people tell me if they are given administrative access to their work laptops? Also, what are the privacy rules for syncing your calendar, etc.

🧵How *moral* are the moral foundations?

We asked this question in my (now published!) first, first-author paper: "Values in Context: The (Dis)connections Between Moral Foundations and Moral Conviction" in PSPB!

A repeat request (I've lost the answer from last time!)

Know of a study (possibly in Science) where manipulated norms shaped music preferences?

Possibly on streaming platforms?

Forgot if I posted about my new paper now out in Social Cognition. This is part of my series on why it is important to disaggregate Asian Americans in research. We showed that South Asian men (particularly with facial hair) are hyper-masculinized relative to East Asian men.

In music video for Celine Dion's It's All Coming Back to Me Now, her love interest didn't have to be dead!! He could have been a regular motorcycle riding guy, not a ghost. He didn't have to be dead!

Got a provisional spot on my in-laws' Thanksgiving menu with corn bread. Happy with my recipe. Trying to nail down a permanent spot, wish me luck!

I'm disillusioned about the publication process lately. A paper with 3 grad students took 5 months to receive a desk rejection for something the editor could have learned from the abstract alone. What journals (social or general psych) are people happy with that aren't super high impact? #socialpsyc

one of my favorite bits of catholic lore is the prayer of st. gertrude, which releases a thousand souls from purgatory every time somebody recites it. like there's some weird exploit st. gertrude found and it's like "purgatory HATES this one weird trick st. gertrude found for releasing souls"

Sorry Bushman and Anderson (2002*)
Among the many good reasons for adopting open science practices and transparency, one is that we should be able to know which of the TWO DIFFERENT Austin Powers video games released in 2000 was used in Bushman and Anderson's (2000) *non-violent video game* condition
