THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A “TRADE DEFICIT”—IT’S JUST CALLED “BUYING THINGS.” YOU DO NOT HAVE A TRADE DEFICIT WITH YOUR DENTIST JUST BECAUSE HE NEVER BUYS ANYTHING FROM YOU.

US considers banning Bhutanese from travelling to US. The rest of the list is as expected, but Bhutan? Seems… quixotic.

Monzo Unwrapped is an understandable attempt of the bank to ‘build a relationship’ with its customers, but ends up being a paean to C21st digital consumerism. Icky, and makes me want to spend nothing at all, which I doubt is what they had in mind.

Terry Pratchett was great. This is a Universal Truth. But if I see one more person saying something grand about the economics of boots I’m complaining to Michael Sheen and David Tennant.

Any self-respecting C12th British peasant would wonder how they got it through planning so quickly.
An astonishing piece of work. Notre Dame cathedral has been transformed.
Imagine what a 12th Century peasant would have thought?

There was a time when Twitter operated with the right mix of kindness and snark. We’re not quite at that point yet, so a bit more snark to balance the gratitude please. Or am I just terminally curmudgeonly?
