Old Hat SEO is Finally Dead. The Bar Has Been Risen For The Next Generation.
SEO isn’t a checklist game. What once moved mountains now barely moves the needle. Critical thinking, storytelling, and cross-discipline skills win. Templates don’t.

This is why we can’t measure “success” by standard attribution.
read @nickleroy.com ‘s latest email and couldn’t agree more! “Today’s long tail lives in social feeds. TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Stories drive discovery passively, one scroll at a time.”

i always search on TT and go to Google last when i’m ready to find the address or make a purchase

Should you create "best X" articles to influence LLMs?

The short answer: it's complicated.

There has been some negative takes on this approach as of late, so I wanted to have @nickleroy.com on to respectfully debate when and how it might make sense to do.

Had a great chat with @suzzicks.bsky.social the other week about Google’s 4S framework and how it’s killing long-tail search…on Google.

The long tail isn’t dead, it’s just moved to YouTube, TikTok & podcasts, etc.

This is the topic of this week's #SEOForLunch 👇

The Long Tail Search Has Died. It's All Happening Outside of Google.
SEOs for years relied on "top of funnel" queries to drive brand awareness. Users are evolving and so has how they search for information.

This week's #SEOForLunch focuses on a topic we don't talk enough about. The impact of AI on SEO, specifically junior SEO talent.

With these new AI tools, crawling tools, and way too many Chrome browser tabs... I'm sick of maxing out my RAM on the regular.

What laptop do you recommend? I'm a PC guy currently using XPS 15 7590

I had a ton of fun working this hero image over and over to get ChatGPT to create a Googlebot doing the griddy!

I wrote a post that goes with it, but that's secondary.🤣

SEOJobs.com is too limiting for paid search marketers.

So I acquired the domain and launched PPCJobs.com today.

Paid media folks, you now have your own safe place for hiring (and getting hired).

Some think search is dead. I'm doubling down!

So much for Google Discover being the one place that was safe from AI Overviews stealing traffic.

It will be interesting to see how this impacts Discover traffic.. guessing we'll start to see the "great decoupling" there too, especially for news topics

This is the way. Google, LLMs, social media, etc., nobody owes you a single visitor and the sooner people realize this and start focusing on eggs in more than one basket, they'll be better off.
