What's up? Anything new in the NFL world I should know? Any questions?
November 18, 2025 at 1:33 PM
There's been a lot of talk about the features the new Broncos stadium should have, but there hasn't been enough talk about the necessity to make it among the loudest in the NFL.
November 17, 2025 at 3:53 PM
It's so difficult to execute it in real time, but if De'Von Achane had gone down in bounds at around the 11 yard line, this game likely looks way different now.
November 16, 2025 at 5:25 PM
And for the Vikings, the tradeoff between playing Eric Wilson and getting a 4th round 2026 compensatory pick become starker, as now Trent Sherfield may be less likely to bail them out.
November 15, 2025 at 9:51 PM
For the Broncos, between this move, and JK Dobbins unfortunately being out for the season, their odds of getting at least one 7th round 2026 compensatory pick have gone up, and could get as many as three of them.
November 15, 2025 at 9:50 PM
Furthermore, if Trent Sherfield is claimed off waivers, he still has incentives that he could earn on his contract, particularly at the 30% snap count level on offense.
November 15, 2025 at 9:48 PM
It is still unknown as to, after a player is cut, whether or not additional snaps will count should he sign and play on offense with a new team.

If Trent Sherfield does find a new team and plays more than a quarter of the offensive snaps, we should learn.
November 15, 2025 at 9:47 PM
Trent Sherfield getting cut after just barely missing the 25% minimum to get a snap count boost in the compensatory formula provides a fascinating test case as to whether or not he'll qualify as a compensatory free agent, which implicates both the Broncos and Vikings.
November 15, 2025 at 9:45 PM
You can review the full details of all of this in this article I wrote up earlier: https://contracts.thinair.football/2025/09/29/jk-dobbins-contract-incentive-deals/

It would also be very up in the air as to whether JK Dobbins qualifies as a compensatory free agent.

If he doesn't due to missed time, at least the Broncos would have a better chance of adding an extra 7th round comp pick.
November 14, 2025 at 10:25 PM
Some good news for JK Dobbins would be if he doesn't play another regular season snap, some of his per game roster bonuses will be paid, as he's improved from 4.6 yards/rush to 5.0.

He would earn $400k if he indeed doesn't play another regular season snap.

November 14, 2025 at 10:23 PM
If "out for the foreseeable future" means "out for at least the regular season, then the only incentive that JK Dobbins could earn would be a $250k one that needs the Broncos to do 1 of these 3:
•Win 11 games
•Rank above 22nd in offense
•Rank above 20th in yards/rush

In my opinion, it would be smart for the NFLMC to come to some sort of settlement to retain the NFLPA report cards, even if they sand off some of the rougher edges.

This has been one of the more popular innovations the PA has done, and it'd be a bad look if it got shut down.
November 13, 2025 at 6:15 PM
The relevant citation in the CBA on this grievance against the NFLPA report cards is Article 51, Section 6.

Fox's early slate schedule for Week 15 also does not look great, so if BUF/NE and LAR/KC both stay early, I could see one of them get crossflexed from CBS to Fox.
November 11, 2025 at 6:53 PM
And Rico Dowdle got that TD last week, and earned this incentive.

That improves the Cowboys' compensatory free agents lost:gained difference to 2, and opens up a 5th rounder for DeMarcus Lawrence leaving to create havoc for Seattle.

Brandon McManus sent out trying and failing to kick a 64 yard field goal twice at the end of regulation...triggered.

Meanwhile, on Earth 2, where meeting high expectations are rewarded, Andy Reid won it 4 times, including the two seasons when he won back to back Super Bowls.
November 11, 2025 at 12:40 AM
As yet another winner of the NFL Coach Of The Year gets fired with hardly any postseason success, it still blows my mind that Andy Reid has won it only once, and that was way back in 2002.
November 11, 2025 at 12:38 AM
I realize it's way too late for a flex, but in an ideal world these two games would be flip flopped.
November 10, 2025 at 12:31 AM
It has to be maddening to follow this team. These results are completely all over the place.
November 9, 2025 at 8:56 PM
This is great news to hear.

I recall really wanting the Broncos to draft Darren Sproles in 2005, and being extremely disappointed when Mike Shanahan drafted Maurice Clarett over him, and he later goes to a division rival at that.

Two decades later, a path to redemption...

Looking at multiple advanced NFL projections (such as DVOA or ELWAY), it's pretty remarkable that at the halfway point, there's consensus that the 7 NFC playoff teams are very likely to already be known now, and how the AFC is likely down to 9 teams for 7 spots.
November 5, 2025 at 4:49 PM
At this point I should have OTC's draft page now updated.

If I missed anything, either from today or before, let me know! Always a difficult task to get this fully accurate.

Cleanup on trade details from the wire:
•The Cowboys sent the Giants' 7th to the Bengals. Still unknown if they have the Chiefs 7th.
•The Jaguars sent their own 4th and the Jets' 6th to the Raiders.
•The Browns sent the Eagles' 7th to the Bears.
