I wonder if Alberta’s Minister of Red Tape Reduction has heard about the new “Statement of Eligibility form”, introduced by Alberta’s government, required to be completed in triplicate for each voter, or the requirement to hand-count all ballots. Feels red-tapey to me.

You can make a good case for lots of Miles Davis recordings to be his best. “In a Silent Way” will always be my favourite, though. What a perfect set of pieces.

We’ve been here before. Automatically reinforcing echo chambers were demonstrably a problem so YouTube changed its recommendations system. And then OpenAI went and built an even more personalized echo chamber.
Adam Raine, 16, died from suicide in April after months on ChatGPT discussing plans to end his life. His parents have filed the first known case against OpenAI for wrongful death.
