Ten Reasons to Vote Yes in the @ucu.org.uk ballot

1⃣ 𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗰𝘂𝘁𝘀

A YES vote strengthens the hand of your elected negotiators and your union in the face of a set of employers making massive cuts in pay and jobs.

My employer has initiated redundancy proceedings. It proposes to axe up to 70 roles (including both academic and professional services roles). I'd like to urge any colleagues on here to vote in both EIS ballots (the local and sector wide ballots).

Vote early and vote for strikes.

Worrying scenes in Falkirk today. Egged on by the far right, a few hundred people turned up to protest against a so-called "migrant hotel".

We joined the residents of Falkirk, fellow trade unionists and anti-racists in saying "refugees are welcome here."

Today I joined a new political party. The party, whose name is still to be decided, will offer an anti-war and socially just (socialist) alternative to mainstream political parties.

Sound interesting? Sign up today.

According to this armed officer in Kent, simply holding a Palestine flag and displaying 'Free Gaza' and 'Israel is committing Genocide' is possible grounds for arrest for supporting Palestine Action (and for unlawfully taking personal details)

Breaking news – Redundancy notice (Section 188) removed

The University of Dundee has confirmed that the section 188 letter issued in March 2025 has been formally withdrawn! This is a direct result of the industrial action we took and the action we threatened.

This is our victory! 1/3

We must defend the right to protest.

To end capitalism we need revolution, and to win revolution we need a revolutionary organisation. Developing that requires political clarity - on which ideas are most effective, through debate and practice. A group of rs21 members respond to Marxist Unity Caucus.
