An objection due to energy security cited Germany’s vulnerability:

‘…They got rid of nuclear power plants, depended on Russia, and now they have to basically import gas and other fuels from America at a massively increased rate…’

Sounds like a reason to keep Ireland #LNGfree!
Thanks to Liudmyla Bortok and the Cork Independent for reporting the debate on Cork's energy future.

Ireland has an enormous sea area with more than enough energy to harvest — our focus should be steadfast on developing our own energy independence, above reliance on fossil fuel imports.
Gas debate sets City Hall on fire | Cork Independent
Cork’s energy dependence, and specifically the potential development of liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals in the region, sparked a heated debate in City Hall recently.

For peace to have a chance, it is not enough to simply recognise that international law is being broken, it must be enforced!

A failure to hold those responsible to account is to be culpable in their crimes.

September 21st marks the International Day of Peace.

There can’t be climate justice without human rights and peace.

NHNA and many other individuals and groups will continue to advocate for climate justice, a just transition, and a fossil fuel-free future in Ireland and around the world.
