NHNA objects to:

1. The idea a LNG terminal would increase Ireland’s energy security
2. Lack of assurance the terminal will operate within carbon budgets (Head 20)
3. Giving one Minister, rather than ACP, decision-making power over a dangerous, expensive and unnecessary fossil fuel project (Head 5)

In July, the EU-US trade deal committed the bloc to import $750bn of US energy through to 2028.

As the Irish Govnt looks to build its first LNG terminal, the idea that these energy dependencies can simply be switched off when wind comes online is naive at best.
