It has been incredible to watch communities come together to make sure no person goes hungry during this government shutdown. On Saturday, I helped sort and deliver 8 tons of food with Belmond’s Wish, and on Sunday I volunteered with NH MARF to assist at their free store.

Our neighbors @keenemutualaid.bsky.social , Littleton Area Mutual Aid, Lowell Mutual Aid, @warmupboston.bsky.social , Mutual Aid Medford & Somerville, @maineneeds.bsky.social are great too! Give them a look
Mutual aid groups, food banks, etc are about to be under even more pressure in the US.

Post your local one's donation link here, and if you're seeing this, and you can spare a few bucks, pick one two to give to.

Utah just approved a 1,300-person “mega camp” for homeless people — seven miles from town, no transportation, locked units, and even forced labor. They call it “work-conditioned housing.” We call it what it is: modern-day internment.

Moving into an RV may seem like a way to save money, but it can come with unexpected costs and trap families in a cycle of debt.

Correction to this post, sorry this particular resident has been in the park for 8 months. She’s been on the wait list for housing for *14 years*.

Need more coffee.
Yesterday residents and advocates held a press conference in the hopes of delaying the removal of tents until residents could be housed.

One resident told us she’d been on the city’s wait list for housing for 5 months. The wait list for Section 8 housing can be many years.
Today, unhoused residents, advocates, and neighbors called upon the city & Ald. Nugent to halt their plan to tear down tents & other structures tomorrow morning in Legion Park, and to do more to support residents.

“We need people who has a heart, a bigger heart.” –Carmen Laude, a park resident.
