Day 2 of the great #GIF2025 at @mpidr.bsky.social. Listening to @philipncohen.com pick apart the "depopulation panic" w/ figures like this: if global TFR drops to 1.66, in ~200yrs, the global population will be at the 2000 level.

Of course these panics are not about humanity as a whole, are they?

Mehr als die Hälfte aller erwerbstätigen Frauen in Deutschland haben keine langfristige Existenzsicherung. Die ökonomische Abhängigkeit von Müttern minderjähriger Kinder ist mit 70% noch höher.
Gleichberechtigung: Jede zweite erwerbstätige Frau kann die eigene Existenz nicht sichern
Die Hälfte der Frauen kann laut einer Studie des DGB langfristig nicht allein von ihrem Einkommen überleben. Grund ist auch die ungleiche Rollenverteilung bei Paaren.
