Spoke to Der Spiegel about gender differences in what makes a partner attractive. And why women being picky and men being not ambitious enough is a lame story that does not become more true by reiterating it.

The gender gap in voting behavior in the 18-24 yrs age group in yesterday’s election in Germany. Women lean towards the left, men to the right.

Conferences are also a space where you meet your mentors, teachers, and friends in academia. Here are some of mine that I truly appreciate. @imprs-phds.bsky.social @mpidr.bsky.social

The annual academy @imprs-phds.bsky.social at @mpidr.bsky.social has been a blast. In my role as faculty member I was honored to speak about how fertility behavior (re)produces gender inequalities and why framing family policies as tools to fix low fertility rates misses the point.

So I am here to say hi to Sant Antonio whose extraordinary rhetoric skills have been passed down to this day. Hoping for positive effects on my performance later today🤓

Proud PI here. My research group #gender #inequalities and #fertility hosted a round table w/Matthijs Kalmijn at @mpidr.bsky.social. Family complexity is a social reality and research needs to catch up regarding theory building, data collection and methods to grasp it from a life course perspective.

A bit overwhelmed by the huge interest to engage with my research during the fantastic Tuesday Dialogs Series hosted by Population Europe (still on the other place). We study the gender equality-fertility nexus in the Nordic countries using @ggp.bsky.social data.

This is my „dress of success“. I bought it ten yrs ago for my PhD defense. I wear it whenever I want to feel like I know my shit. good luck! PS: the high heels looked amazing but they were definitely a huge mistake😅.

On my way to deliver a research talk @dynamics.bsky.social lecture series at Hertie School/HU and to meet the female PhD students for a career talk on how to navigate an academic system that too often demands women to FIT IN and too often fails to make them feel like they BELONG.

Visiting the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute today (and working *under* (!) the most impressive office plant ever). I will give a talk on the gender-equality fertility Nexus using GGS data.
