Back to work this morning, which involves sifting through the natural beauty and cultural diversity of the state. Definitely preferable to doomscrolling.

I wonder how many people will change their party affiliation to Independent today, particularly in states with open primaries?

Random thought...the FAA forced commercial airlines to cut flights by 10% to alleviate burden on air traffic control, but private air travel accounts approximately 1 in 6 flights handled by air traffic controllers (before they cut 10% commercial). The US = highest # of private jet flights globally.

LOTS of people showed up. Each person has reasons. Those reasons may differ, but we are in the same boat. United we stand. Divided we fall.
Personally, I appreciate the sense of community. 🙂

In a few weeks parents will be hoping to fill stockings from Santa. 🎅🏼 So I’m thinking my two unopened bags may go to the food bank here in Santa Fe. It’s the Food Depot whose amazing head has been interviewed on MSNBC all week. I had the younger two fill a box to donate this week. #AT40 #FoodBank

The retailers will now attempt to do tone deaf XMas marketing as usual. 😑

I have volunteered for a local food project for a long time. The main food banks have arrangements with a variety of suppliers. A dollar donated to a food bank feeds more people than dollars spent directly on groceries donated. Food banks, pantries, and projects always need volunteers as well.

It's come to our attention that SNAP benefits may not be issued next month, and a lot of local families will likely feel that impact. For parents already doing their best to juggle everything, even small changes can make a big difference when it comes to keeping kids fed.

Ranked choice voting might turn down the partisan vitriol significantly. I doubt either party would support the shift, because it would weaken their grip on candidates and cash.

Albuquerque Journal's page 3 coverage of the No Kings protest was disappointing. 🙄😒😑
That was probably the largest single day protest in Albuquerque's history, but the ABQ Journal devoted a lot of words to NM Republicans denouncing or dismissing the protests. Crap article.
