Lots of people joined SPACE for Fenham and Arthur's Hill on their Glow ride last night as part of the @cyclinguk.bsky.social "My ride. Our right" campaign to call for safer streets.
See pictures from the event and a video explaining what it was about in the gallery below.

"The single most important behaviour, design or regulation for creating streets conducive to walking and cycling, was physical separation between the modes"

We've got a new study out, learning from a broad mixture of street users, planners and designers

The council have now opened this route. Thank you to those in the council and @mikecookson.bsky.social for getting this fixed. The signs are still in place but can be ignored.

Let us know if you see issues like this wherever you cycle. It can be fixed!
Still no update on this unfortunately. Some Cyclists dismount signs have been quickly put up.

This is discriminatory to those with mobility cycles and blocks larger cargo bikes.

A safe diversion needs to be in place or the fencing moved.

The route into Shieldfield has been blocked today by Newcastle Council. We have contacted them as there is no notice of a road closure that we can see.

Spotted two people carrying bikes on their backs while cycling yesterday. I recently carried a couple of side tables home on my bike.

Have you carried anything weird and wonderful while cycling recently?

First time on a new @my-metro.bsky.social - very exciting moment. Thank you to everyone who helped ensure there is space for my bike. Most people will never know the work that went into making this happen.

Did you know Newcastle has over 3000 cycle parking spaces in the city centre. These have all now been added to open street maps and are accessible with more detail via a seperate map on our website.

Where would you like to see more cycle parking in Newcastle?

Are you a woman who cycles at night in Newcastle or has before?
A student from Newcastle Uni is looking to hear about your experiences as part of the research for their dissertation.
It would involve a 40 minute interview about your experiences
