Latest game of Arkham Horror. Second last scenario of Dark Matter, and my deck is around 50 XP. Campaign is absurdly generous on XP, and definitely feels overpowered! Regularly swinging for 4 damage, testing from a skill of 12.

Because Australian internet is terrible, didn't even have enough time to download the game to my Steam Deck before work. Least I've got the long weekend!
Hoping FF7 Rebirth runs well on Steam Deck purely so I can squeeze in a bit of playtime on my way to work on Friday.

Been reading the Midnighter TPB from DC, because I'm on a gay comic kick.

Really enjoy the way it balances personal life and superhero action, gives things very intimate stakes. The frantic and brutal way it depicts fights is great too.

The miracle failed to occur. Guess I'm missing out on the Midwinter Gala.
Urgh, covid is the worst. First I have to cancel my Troubleshooters TTRPG session, now it's looking like I'll miss out on the Arkham Horror event. Fingers crossed I make a miraculous overnight recovery...

Just got done playing The Machine in Yellow from Dark Matter! Very close game, a slow start meant we were scrambling to counter horror loss at the end, but we still managed a win! Parallel Zoey continues to be monstrous in combat.

Finished SKALD: Against the Black Priory last night. Really nice CRPG with a great retro art style. Did not go in expecting a cosmic horror story in a fantasy setting, did a great job creating a horrific vibe. Also, you can be a bard!

As much as I like crunchy TTRPGs with tactical combat and build choices, running a lighter game like The Troubleshooters makes me appreciate how simpler rules make it easier to improvise, giving players a lot more freedom. Running a sandbox leaves room for them to surprise me as the GM! #ttrpg

Vault Games in Brisbane is doing an epic multiplayer event for the Arkham Horror LCG, running Midwinter Gala.

Been putting together a Kymani deck. First time using them, and first time doing something close to a big money deck.

Played Curse of the Dark last night, first time doing one of these at-home escape room games.

Was a lot of fun, finished right on time with minimal hints/incorrect answers. Creative puzzles, although I wish the hints were better! First puzzle stumped us for 20 min!

Used the holiday break to play Eldritch Horror for the first time in a year, going up against Yig. Not sure how, but we absolutely breezed through the game, had over half the mythos deck left! #boardgames

Been working my way through the Pathfinder 2E rules as I've had my fill of DnD 5E. While they share a lot in common, I really appreciate that the PF2E rules are much tighter and less ambiguous. Though also feels like some aspects make for a slower game...

Just got back from a late night grocery run because my labrador is the unfortunate combination of being a very fussy eater with an easily upset stomach. Turns out, tapioca in dog food disagrees with him. Such a weird lab.

Just got done reading the Alan Scott: The Green Lantern miniseries. I normally don't go for stories that feature homophobia and gay angst, but... This one really tugged at the heartstrings.
