TB and climate change are solvable, yet remain unsolved. Their persistence is an indictment of our species’ worst vice: our lack of respect for people and the planet. “ A preventable, curable infectious disease remains our deadliest. That’s the world we are currently choosing,” Green concludes.
I spoke with @johngreensbluesky.bsky.social about his surprising obsession with tuberculosis—and why our inability to solve solvable crises like TB and climate change is an indictment of our species

A recent study reveals that aspirin and COX-1 inhibitors may help prevent cancer metastasis by boosting T cell immunity 🛡️. Researchers found that platelet-derived thromboxane A2 (TXA2) suppresses T cells, but blocking this pathway with aspirin frees T cells to attack metastatic cancer cells.
Aspirin prevents metastasis by limiting platelet TXA2 suppression of T cell immunity
Nature - Inhibition of cyclooxygenase 1 releases T cells from immunosuppression by platelet-derived thromboxane A2, thereby enhancing the immune response against metastasis.
