Bi-annual serious post, ‘cos I see a lot of pain on here.

If the world is grinding you down, you gotta shift your focus to what you can be grateful for. Take a moment to appreciate every good thing in your life, no matter how small. Don’t let the ugliness you see on your phone take root inside you.

I think Ryan Giggs was the last elite footballer who was older than me. I knew it was over on May 5 2014 😂
My age moving on year after year worries me, it's now at the ripe old age of 40 that I know I will not be signed as a professional footballer, perhaps only on an emergency loan now.

This 1997 report on Richey Edwards supposedly living in Goa is striking in the totally alien era it describes: one of temporary passports easily available in post offices, and a long-gone world in which one can very easily vanish.

It's easy to disappear in Goa's hippy haunts
If missing rock star Richey Edwards is in India, he could live anonymously for years, reports Jan McGirk

Love this so much, especially the juxtaposition of English folklore paths with an Amazon spokesperson going out of their way to deny a person driving their branded vehicle is an employee.

Soccer Stats have done an all-time PL table, with Leeds looking very good for a team that was absent for 18 seasons of it - and a notable GD of zero across 608 games.

I wonder if they, as back in the ‘80s, are trying to recruit from within football - and from lads who dont really know who they are but are desparate to be something. Call this shit out at ER if you see it.
Look at the state of this. Embarrassing. 🤦‍♂️ #lufc

It is very clear that this Leeds United is a very close unit. I’m sure they have their moments but they all seem to be there for each other. It counts for a lot.

Not the best yesterday but it’s cool to get through to round 5 (there’s a round 5?!). Now we’ve got to keep cool heads over the next two difficult games imo. The gap may shrink but it’s going to widen again once Feb is out. 2/3 wins to make sure? We’ve got this.

If children were more politically active they would be quite pissed to be told that their screen time is “the most urgent public health issue” while the largest measles outbreak since the vaccine sweeps their schools because of conspiracies that the adults in their life believed from social media.

The Silence of the Lambs is 35. It’s one of my favourite films for lots of reasons, but I particularly like its relentless use of POV. For 90 minutes you see through the eyes of Clarice, except…(1/3)

I know Nuno ultimately left Wolves ‘cos of his state of mind, but you can’t say he’s looked better recently. Guy looks positively haunted here. Has for some time.

Only thing I have to say on this is that disgustingly rich people never really seem to understand the system that keeps them disgustingly rich.

The problem in our society is billionaires.

Looking at 24/25 after 26 games. #lufc same pts now as Stretford Reds then.

Pre-season question was if a promoted team was to stay up, which established Prem club would they finish above? WHU & Wolves (about to go on a 6W run) were 16th & 17th

Spurs took just 5 points from their last 12 games 😳...
