I do get that post college cyber/IT itch from time to time...
I deeply appreciate the fact that I had the opportunity to study cybersecurity but I am in love with the aspect of being able to have more time now to engage with the arts and culture outside of computers

When I was in high school & as a college undergrad it seemed easy to come up with a take on any topic that would impress other people. As I learned more I realized the world required depths of expertise to understand. But some people still retain the undergraduate mindset and are successful with it.

The us government using City Pop poster designs, as well as Studio Ghibli animation style (both created by AI) to foster support for mass deportations is obviously an effort to appeal to domestic westerners with the easily forgotten ideology of pre WW2 imperialism in Japan.

I can't remember where I read this, but someone said that later kojima games, popular manga in '25, and other stuff like that were "artslop" and that they're only likeable bc they're good. And I just thought to myself for a while

Went to the city library to try to use a media terminal to get access to a few articles for archiving and I come to find out that you can't save anything as a PDF or even print them out.

These are 1930s/40s level human rights violations happening here in the US right now, and the people responsible seem unlikely to face any consequences.
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.
