It might get me labeled as a Crazy Bluesky Radical, but I don’t think it’s great that our nuclear arsenal is at the disposal of a demented old man who’s just an exposed nerve of grievances and hatreds with absolutely no impulse control.

Trump’s Inferno of Hate Is Intensifying
When a man with the president’s personality feels besieged and abandoned, he becomes more desperate and more dangerous.

we’ll all be accused of being cold and heartless and i will read those critiques between sips of very good champagne
For better or worse, public figures are judged when they die — their character, contributions, beliefs. It's undeniable that millions have mourned Rob Reiner's tragic death, celebrating his talent and contributions. I suspect when a certain public figure kicks the bucket, sentiments wont be the same

If you voted for Trump in 2024 and finally realize that he lied to get your vote and things aren't going well, it's okay to change your mind.

Write your representative in Congress and tell them how you want them to vote. Tell them how things are going. Tell them to hold Trump accountable.

The idea that others are using unfair advantages to get ahead is a core element of both Trumpism and anti-immigration rhetoric. Letting rich people and businesses ostentatiously buy U.S. residency is as explicit a shortcut as you’ll find.

This is actually a good example of why the customer model is wrong.

I wouldn't have chosen poetry writing, but UNC made me take a class. And it absolutely made me become a much better writer, with an eye to concision and an ear now trained to the rhythm of words. I'm a better historian as a result.
If you are providing me with an education that is low utility in the world then it’s a disservice. My composition class spent four weeks on poetry. I’m sorry, but that only would’ve been useful if I wanted to be a poet. I don’t need to know iambic pentameter in order to be a victim advocate.

Every part of this is bonkers. The intro is bonkers. The transition to his health is bonkers. The mention that other presidents didn't need cognitive exams is bonkers. The claim that this screening test is somehow hard is bonkers. The idea that criticism of him is treason is bonkers. All of it.

A huge night for Democrats:

—They flip Miami's mayorship.
—They flip a state House district in Georgia that had voted Trump by 13%.
—They keep Albuquerque's mayorship, while the liberal faction flips city council.
—And they get big overperformances (+18 & +22) in 2 Florida specials.
