In all seriousness, as bad as that Wales game was I’m still tremendously pleased for Tandy. He’s a wonderful rugby man & will have fully earned any success that comes his way. It’s just a pity that neither Scotland, nor the Lions were able to give it to him sooner.

I can’t decide what would be funnier…Argentina losing to Scotland, but then going on to put 50 past England & the hype train crashing early. Or England going into the 6N full of hope (hype), only to get turned over by Fra, Ire & Sco in quick order…?

There are many aspects of Carley’s refereeing I struggle with. Not least his disgusting refusal to apply the Laws to avoid binning the NZ Captain for a cynical try denying offence in 2017. But his pen adv for side entry into the maul, when a player clearly joins from the back, continues to perplex.

I’m not even sure the quality of rugby will improve later either. Even if a little off-colour, Ireland are a good team, but Australia are a hot mess right now. So that’s hardly going to be a classic, is it?!
