Really worth a read. Sent it to my father, too.
Grateful my story "Listen, Peepaw" was named a finalist for @retreatwest.bsky.social's Short Story Prize. I hope you'll give it a read. Congratulations to the winners & my fellow finalists!

My brilliant colleague Jes Trudel is hosting a writers' retreat in Ontario this April. I bet it will be beautiful, and a productive inspiration.
Based on pre-registrations, I've decided the retreat will be April 3-5, 2024 at The Hive in Leskard, Ontario (1 hour outside Toronto). The retreat will include workshops, one-on-one coaching, and plenty of writing time. Page and form have been updated! writingcommunity.ca/storiednorth/

"We should seek laughter first and cackling. Laughter loud as hell. Bubbles air nostalgia, reveries tempt thrills. Punctuation must be joking, paragraphs are cheats…."

Our brilliant friend and EiC @jeffreybarken.bsky.social leads our new issue, REWILDING, reminding us to LOL.
In "Laughter" our Editor-in-Chief Jeff Barken @jeffreybarken.bsky.social recounts a chat with his friend Wes Burdett of Within Light Studio, rewilding his life upon an exit from politics, how we must follow and express laughter, and what it earns us. Read it here:

Coming soon! REWILDING!

Rewilding is about restoring nature to a delicate balance. But rewilding can take place in our creativity and in communication.

Rewilding is stewardship, steadfastness, & interconnectedness, forging compassionate bonds among all.
