BREAKING: Mesa County DA Dan Rubinstein and Colorado AG Phil Weiser sent a letter to Gov. Jared Polis on Thursday with a clear message:

No matter what Trump says, the state should not adjust former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters’ sentence.

I was provided a copy of the letter late this afternoon.

“This is on both sides of the aisle.”

I talked to Republican House Rep. Jeff Hurd about his vote to release the Epstein files on Tuesday and asked him how Congress can follow up if these documents end up being heavily redacted or even altered. www.gjsentinel.com/news/colorad...
"Way past due": Rep. Hurd votes to release Epstein files
The U.S. House of Representatives voted 427 to 1 on Tuesday to approve the release of documents and files pertaining to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. The Senate then passed

I just chatted with Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District Rep. Jeff Hurd (R-Grand Junction). He told me he is a YES on releasing the Epstein Files in today’s upcoming vote.

Story to come.

I meant to share these earlier in the week, but here’s some photos I took of the northern lights over Grand Junction on Tuesday night. These were taken in the Redlands area. Second photo shows the Milky Way bathed in pink.

Mamdani out here quoting Sam Raimi’s first Spider-Man movie. The man knows how to get the people going, huh?
addressing trump:

"to get to any of us, you will have to get through all of us."

This is far from the most noteworthy result unfolding in politics tonight, and results are not finalized, but….

In Mesa County in Colorado, two of the three incumbent Republicans from the District 51 school board are losing handily as things stand.

Hiking the Narrows at Zion with my dad today so if y’all don’t hear from me again, I’ve become one with the river and just know I’m cool with it.

Say what you will about Sean Payton’s playcalling today and the dismal offensive play (namely dismal running game); that defense was OUTSTANDING today for Denver. Holding an NFL team to 82 total yards is insane. Nine sacks in one game is insane. Those guys had a near perfect day.

Autumn is my favorite time of year, especially in Colorado. Took these photos atop the Grand Mesa in western Colorado this past weekend.

Trump cited “crooked” mail-in voting as a reason to relocate Space Command from Colorado to Alabama.

So I talked to Colorado reps from both the GOP (Mesa County Clerk Bobbie Gross, Reps Matt Soper and Janice Rich) and the Dems (Hickenlooper, Bennet, Weiser) who all defended mail-in voting:
Officials from both parties push back on Trump's criticism of Colorado's mail-in voting
At the start of September, President Donald Trump announced the relocation of Space Command headquarters from Colorado Springs to Huntsville, Alabama, seeing through his original plan from early 2021 ...

It’s impressive that these are two topics worth raising social media hell about and Schumer and his team choose to combine them in the most ineffective way imaginable.

Also neat that everyone’s just accepted that childish all-caps Trump-style posting is just how politics is now.
IS EPSTEIN THE REAL REASON TRUMP HAD KIMMEL CANCELED?!

My fiancé, who cares not at all for sports, decided she wants to root for an NFL team this season and also be able to troll me about the Broncos, so she drew out 27 teams on little pieces of paper (for various reasons she excluded five teams) and drew from a jar until one was left. Behold this art

It is absolutely scandalous that the FBI had no insight into or idea about the suspect and the only reason he’s been caught is because the dude just couldn’t shut up. They detained two people who had nothing to do with it and just got lucky that someone confessed on their own accord.
The suspect, Tyler Robinson, allegedly confessed to the shooting to a family member, who told a family friend, who, in turn, reached out to authorities, Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said. wapo.st/4mVlKLL

The only thought I’m going to share on Charlie Kirk is the disheartening number of people saying “Well, he didn’t advocate for empathy, so why should I show him any?”

Criticize his actions/legacy, but I truly believe the people saying things like the above don’t believe a better world is possible.

So to summarize:

— older man is publicly led away in cuffs and everyone shares that he’s a murderer…. who is then released because it wasn’t him

— FBI announces someone else is in custody…. who also didn’t do it

are you freaking kidding me
BREAKING

The killer of Charlie Kirk remains at large.

FBI Director Kash Patel just now:

“The subject in custody has been released after an interrogation by law enforcement. Our investigation continues and we will continue to release information in interest of transparency.”
