I'm a dad and this is awful. I'm so sorry. You deserve better.

I drew this lady who looks like she's living in a lake for 1000 years and you've disturbed her sleep and now she's about to fuck shit up, "The Ring" style. #mygod #whathaveidone

I had a zoom session with my therapist yesterday. Based on his shirt, my guess is that he'll still be hungover tomorrow.

4) Bugonia. Yorgos Lanthimos! Emma Stone! Jesse Plemons! Conspiracy theorists who kidnap a CEO! If you're excited to hear all that, then you'll love it! It was awesome and weird. Big Yorgos energy.

Ugh. I'm so sarcastic that saying real stuff is like pulling teeth. Also, talking about things I do gives me allergies. I have deep Catholic guilt about getting airs even though I'm Methodist. Anyway, hope you hate it!

Which one is your favorite?

We get to take all of our experiences and see them reflected back to us.

This year, I'm going to continue to focus on portraits and start adding a focus on the human form.

God this caption is so sincere.

The thing that has drawn me to portraits and figures is story. Every scar tells a story. Every wrinkle points to a life. A laugh or a flash of rage show up so immediately on the face. Art with people tells a story-even if you don't know what the story is. 1/3

3) Duck Soup (1933) I've never seen the Marx Brothers! I love the silly names (Rufus T Firefly is a Mike Schur-ass name) and the slapstick. Some of the timing felt weird but they were figuring out movie comedy! I can't imagine what a sea change this must have felt like originally. 3/๐Ÿงต

2) 12 Angry Men (1950 whatever)-god this ruled. I've never seen it before and it did not disappoint. A bunch of characters who feel recognizable from our current politics and one man who gives a crap that the right thing is actually done. Featuring the voice of piglet and a man born in 1884! 2/๐Ÿงต

Every film I watch in 2026 (a thread):

1. The Shawshank Redemption-I'm watching some of IMDB's highest rated movies with my daughter and she hasn't seen it before. It's a crazy fantasy since a powerful person does something wrong and then receives justice??? WHAT??? 1/๐Ÿงต

And the importance of realizing that you are "enough". If you don't fit in with hustle culture-you're enough. If you're not a millionaire-you're enough. If you don't fit in-you're enough. It's beautiful and you should check it out.

I was poking around reading about AI today. I was looking at an article on Substack and the app recommended me another article by @pattonoswalt.bsky.social . His article was a beautiful meditation on time with loved ones, time "wasted" on frivolous things, the virtue of relaxation, 1/2

I loved Arrested Development. There has never been a joke that fit my sense of humor more than that joke.

Despite some struggles, I'm really proud of the art I've made this year. I wanted to paint a lot of faces and I feel like I've made some really interesting stuff. Thanks to everyone for looking and buying and interacting with my stuff online!

I'm glad to have found Tom and his books this year. You should go check him out!
I know it can be a bit cringey when people put their children on social media but I decided to change my banner and include my seven youngest in it. They've had a fucking rough year, and it was touch and go for a while back the start, and I'm proud they've made it through it.
