A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

Our spartan cottage is exactly enough square feet and no more, room for two people who like each other a great deal. Who needs luxury when there’s a wide window looking out on the Salish Sea & Strait of Juan de Fuca?

Walking This Path

George Saunders: "life is going to be a gradual process of becoming kinder or more loving. Hurry up. Start now."
To the U.S.: Hurry it up. Here in Portland we are weird, creative, outrageous, and yes, kind.
