I met you at a bar one night One I've never been again You said you liked my outfit But you were a few drinks in We spoke of nothing, laughed of less Talking small without much aim A meeting I'd have soon forgot Til you offered me her name You shared with me her fears that night Her hopes, her past, her pain You asked if she could be let out If you would still remain I tried my best to reach her, then Tried to show her someone cared Tried with all I had to tell her It was okay to be scared I reached and thought I touched her then Thought I held her hand to mine I thought I gave her hope that night Thought I helped her cross a line I left her there, inside that bar Said I'd help her next we met The next day when I reached for her Guess you let yourself forget I never heard from you again And I probly never will It might just have all been nothing You were pretty drunk, but still I hope you keep her safe somewhere And, well, if it's all the same Even if I never meet her Please, don't you forget her name
