If the House stays out, the GOP is setting up congress to be dissolved by Emperor Palpatine. There's no way they ever sabotage their own power this much as part of normal politics, it has to be shooting the moon somehow. If they don't need their jobs the oligarchs must have promised them zillions.

What they didn't tell you about the Matrix (the real one, not the movie) is that it's a Comedy. A really dumb slapstick comedy, but dark and definitely in poor taste. All the "funny" things are only happening to famous people. Your own suffering is just part of the background that forms the premise.
