Not sure why the govt & media present ID cards almost entirely in the context of migration, on which it will have only a marginal effect.
Rather, it’s a practical way for all of us to prove our identity when we need to, without pfaffing around with multiple cards and documents

I must admit that I will be quite happy to carry a digital or even a physical ID card. It will reduce the number of cards I already carry!
Another compelling argument in their favour, to me at least, is that Boris Johnson stands against the introduction of an ID card in whatever form!
