figured out I think the parallels to skating that made my brain latch on. bc it’s like extremely small insular community. governing body run by an evil dictator. intensely performed/performative gender. too much internet. one person in my family has insider expertise to explain stuff to the rest.
My sister (engineer in it for the cars) has gotten me semi into f1 by dint of watching it while I’m in the same room cross stitching. I fear there may be something in my brain permanently wired to Sports Full Of Bad

i have no answer for this as approximately 85% of the fic referencing the suburb i grew up in is about one of two guys my sister ACTUALLY KNEW long pre-fame and therefore i cannot read it, too weird
