much to hate about soulmate AU's but one of the most egregious imo is that people are mostly different superficially. On a deep level we're all pretty similar. So the idea of having a Cosmically Perfect Destiny Partner based on the falsehood that you are unique on a "soul" deep level is ridiculous

I think that fanfic so far removed from the canon and yet immaculately written makes many people go "why didn't you just write this as original fiction" but you see, it has to be these two men specifically or I don't care and would never have written it at all
