There is a concept in Judaism that Judaism is not defined as just what it is in a vacuum or on paper, but it is what Jews actually do. Lots of examples of practices that were adopted culturally instead of "officially," like mezuzot.

This week my therapist suggested I find a community space to exist in that I don't organize and am not a celebrity in. In fact, perhaps even one not oriented around sex or kink.

My friends who died should still be here. My friends who have terrible, debilitating disabilities from long covid should still be able-bodied and doing the things they used to. It's tremendously unjust and horrible and there's nothing I can personally do except mask. So I mask! Please do it with me.

I want to be able to see you and hang out with you and kiss you and eat with you and go to the movies with you! And I'll be so much more likely to do those things if we all take care of ourselves. I'm not getting less disabled. Some of my friends have died. The only thing I can do is mask!

If you used to but have stopped, there's no reason not to start again! If you never really did, this is a perfect time to start. Things are bad and our health system is being torn apart by people who want you to die. Help yourself and help your loved ones by upping the odds of staying healthy.
