NBD just got to meet @redistrict.bsky.social in real life. I’ve seen enough!

CALLS ARE WORKING - it has bought us precious time, but we NEED to keep the pressure up.

Tomorrow is the cloture vote.

KEEP CALLING: (202) 224-3121 ☎️☎️☎️

Tell your Dem Senator to vote NO on Cloture and NO on the Republican spending bill.

Do NOT assume your Senator will be good on this. Trust me.
🚨 Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave.

Tell them:
1. Vote NO on Cloture
AND
2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill.

Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it.

TODAY is the showdown.

The scary part: that I don’t feel like I can trust anything coming out of the CDC

Thank god that our legacy media isn’t yet entirely captured (side eye @washingtonpost.com [yes I know the newsroom is—so far—independent and doing great work, but can you blame me?])

I applaud Representative McBride for responding by misgendering the Chair and moving on. While the Democrat who stood up for her was definitely in the right, I wonder if she would have preferred to register her small act of displeasure and continue with business.

Representative Keith Self of Texas insisted on calling Representative Sarah McBride, the first openly transgender member of Congress, “Mr. McBride,” and adjourned the session when challenged about it.

What he said about Social Security payments has been repeatedly debunked - so the question isn’t whether he’s lying about this, the question is why.

What is this a pretext for? He and the GOP have long shown interest in going after Social Security. What are they going to try?

Well. I held on when Bezos pulled the endorsement. “The journalists shouldn’t suffer for this.” But now @karaswisher.bsky.social says the journalists are fleeing the sinking ship so I feel less bad about this. I had hoped Bezos could have used some of his billions to buy a spine.

💥 BREAKING: At John Deere's annual shareholders meeting today, shareholders overwhelmingly rejected an anti-DEI proposal brought by the same group that targeted Costco and Apple. An anti-DEI proposal from the NCPPR received less than 1 percent of votes.

Incompetence in Washington puts every American at risk, no matter how you voted. No one should be happy that the DOGE team - the same folks who randomly published classified U.S. security information online today - wants access to your bank account & Social Security numbers.

I guess one way to backdoor Handmaid’s Tale this thing is to push through an anti-vax HHS Head, make schools unsafe, and force women back into the home to home school out of fear of small pox.

And yes, we all know it will be women.
