What do you call a leader with no followers? Just a guy taking a walk.

He's not just a senator. He's the *leader*. His job isn't his personal vote. His job is to unify and lead his caucus against the regime.

It doesn't actually matter if Chuck Schumer votes for this or not.

If he can't keep his caucus unified to protect healthcare for over 10 million Americans, he should resign as leader.

agreeing to make a terrible deal while your main opponent is quite literally being boo'd on live tv by an entire stadium of people is the kind of political instinct you'd normally only find in a 3 week old dead goldfish

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

Democratic organizers did our fucking part. We gave Democrats a clean sweep on Tuesday so Chuck Schumer have leverage to negotiate.

Instead, either because of malice or sheer fucking incompetence, he is letting his caucus fold like fucking cowards.

Fighting back against Trump’s regime is the only thing that has improved Democrats’ approval rating. We cannot afford another “Schumer Surrender.” Tell your Democratic senators to continue holding the line to keep healthcare costs down and protect coverage for millions of Americans. 👇
TELL YOUR DEMOCRATIC SENATORS TO KEEP HOLDING THE LINE IN THE FUNDING FIGHT
With historic healthcare cuts and cost increases looming, Republicans chose to force a Trump Shutdown rather than address the healthcare crisis and limit Trump’s lawless manipulation of federal funds....

This is really good to see: Miki Sherrill just put out a statement sharply criticizing the Senate Dems' pending cave in the government shutdown, ripping it as "malpractice" and a betrayal of the people who are "counting on us to fight for them." Sherrill knows what drove her victory. Wake up, Dems.

In the audience tonight is Charlotte Bennett, one of the 13 women that Andrew Cuomo is credibly alleged to have sexually harassed while they worked in his government.

She can't speak for herself because Cuomo's lawyers have hounded her.

So I confronted him.

It's very obvious that the NYT has put people in editorial positions who view it as part of their job to upset the left. This is, in the bizarro, insular world of US elites, seen as a way to restore balance & regain the trust of the right.

Putting aside the merits of the larger effort ...

The budget bill contains tens of billions to fund an army of 10,000 more ICE agents. This is a red alert moment for our democracy.

No one “gets over” losing access to care. Figuring out where their mom or dad goes if they can’t stay at their nursing home. Struggling to pay for their child’s life saving medicine. Deciding which is more important-making a doctor’s appointment or feeding their family.
Medicaid saves lives.
☎️Despite what Senator McConnell thinks, 𝐖𝐄 𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐆𝐄𝐓 𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐈𝐓! We have seen so many of you fighting for access to 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐢𝐝 and 𝐒𝐍𝐀𝐏 all year long! We will not forget how our representatives here in PA vote on the this budget bill.
