First, they said postponed; now the meeting is canceled. That means no flu shots next year.

“'It’s a six-month production cycle,' Dr. Offit said. 'So one can only assume that we’re not picking flu strains this year.'"

Fundamentally, that's a form of mass murder.

The cancellation plays into fears among scientists who worry that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will use his position as health secretary to sow doubts about vaccines.

Fascism was bad in the 1930s and 40s. Could it be better this time?

Looking for reccs of historians that have written about their relationship to their source/subject explicitly. Have included @tricksterprince.bsky.social and Caroline Steedman re sourcework - any other? Not so much theory (I have a lot of that re emotion and positionality) but in practice. Thanks!

A great review of my colleague’s new history of policing in Italy. We have lots of work in the pipeline together, in English, but if you read Italian this is a good antipasto:

It's Trans Day of Remembrance, which can rightly be a very sad day due to its nature, and, at the moment with things appearing as bleak as they are, it feels like this year's is greyer. I don't have a solution to the present or future. But I do want to quickly remind you that the past is vibrant. 1/
