How many people do you think have died resulting from their own pride?

And have died due to the pride of others?

The same amount?

How many U.S government officials have sworn an oath to a document they've never read?

Do you think it's more or less than the number of people who sign contracts without reading them first?

One of my neighbors in the U.S. died by suicide this week.

She turned 25 years old earlier this month, entering the prime of her life.

Tragic and painful, especially for her family left behind.

Mental health issues aside, the United States continues to fail its young people in fundamental ways:

How do you use a 'red card'?

Hold it up to a window, from *inside* your house.

-The side facing outward, in English, tells the authorities that you know your rights.

-The side facing inward, in Spanish, tells you how to declare those rights.

Another new low in a series of new lows for this second run of pure chaos.
Judge Hannah Dugan, the Wisconsin judge who was arrested on Friday morning on charges of obstructing immigration enforcement, spent most of her legal career working on behalf of low-income people and marginalized groups. Here's what to know.

This is one of the best, moving interviews that I've heard in recent memory: www.wusf.org/2025-04-05/d...

Very open reflections from Asma, the interviewer, and wonderful energy and an overall message from Asma, the chef.

By the way, that concept of "layering" works in many aspects of life!

Today might be “Liberation Day,” but it’s also the 6th anniversary of my first book: Startup Vietnam: Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Socialist Republic.

Later this month comes the original “Liberation Day”—also called “Reunification Day,” “Black April,” and the “Fall of Saigon.”

Words matter.

Language shapes our thoughts, helps us form our ideas, allows us to communicate better, & most important of all, enables us to accomplish our goals.

Unfortunately, I don't see the kind of language needed to shift the narrative from being in opposition to promoting a unifying vision

Over the weekend, I had a chance to speak to his business partner, also Canadian. He was a Trump supporter during the election cycle up through the last month or so.

He did not care for VP Harris, doubted her intelligence, and said that he wasn't "into that woke shit" that the Democrats like.
I had a call with a Canadian manufacturer friend earlier and asked him about the tariffs & the current U.S. administration.

He told me he wasn't worried at all about the situation, & that Canadian politicians were ill prepared & needlessly worried.

Without prompting, he continued to elaborate...

Last week, I spoke to a U.S. public sector worker who told me that if he and his colleagues were asked to justify everything under a set of policy criteria then he'd get behind the slashing and burning at the federal level.

But as it is now, there's no direction or logic to the destruction by DOGE.

💡 Medicare is confusing–but it doesn’t have to be.

When my parents retired, I thought signing them up for Medicare would be simple. Instead, we ran into misbilled claims, incorrect coverage dates, and surprise costs.

Here’s what I learned & what every family should know. 🧵👇

Last week, Allstate claims adjusters began using AI to process the actual claim itself, i.e., taking photos of a vehicle and then everything being handled via AI within an app.

As you'd expect, it's caused some issues, especially for autobody shop owners who then have to push back to justify costs.

The Cultural Revolution has begun, and transform the United States of America, it will.
Since writing this article, I have received messages from federal civil servants who tell me it is accurate, and that they are frightened. Please share this with anyone who doesn't understand the scale of the transformation.

📢 Millennials and Gen Z are becoming caregivers—but no one prepared us for Medicare.

We grew up helping our parents with tech and banking apps, now we’re helping with doctors and insurance.

And Medicare? It’s 100x harder than it should be.

It's absolutely incredible to see a U.S. governor compare the actions of the current administration in the White House to the rise of Nazi, Germany.

Are we at 1933, later, or earlier?
It took the Nazis one month, three weeks, two days, eight hours, and 40 minutes to dismantle a constitutional republic.

When the fire starts to burn, every good person better be ready to man a post with a bucket of water if you want to stop it from raging out of control.

When @aoc.bsky.social won her primary in 2018, I thought it was proof of a silver lining insofar as more people were running for public office as a reaction to the 2016 election results.

Now that we're in the Trump redux, I hope we'll see a resurgence of more young folks wanting to get involved.

Yes, but you need to be able to learn the fundamentals and thoroughly assess the outputs from any LLM that you use.

You're always going to need to understand the fundamentals, especially to make the most of an LLM, and to avoid critical errors.
If you have zero education, but learn how to ask AI models the right questions , in many jobs you will be able to outperform someone with an advanced degree, but who is unwilling to use Large Language Models.

Just takes a smartphone, curiosity to experiment and a mindset to learn.

This is an unprecedented statement by a state Attorney General, released five days ago and yet I’m only hearing about it now.

I’m encouraged by the more accurate framing of what we’ve witnessed in the United States since Jan 20, 2025.

Words matter; they shape perception and drive action. #coup
What Donald Trump is allowing Elon Musk and his DOGE team to do is not an audit. It is a coup. This an incredibly dangerous moment—and it is all the more dangerous if people don’t understand what is happening.
