A think tank researcher said anti-government propaganda by Russian bot accounts was what has made the small far-right party Sanseito so popular leading up to the Upper House election.
Concerns grow in Japan over possible Russian interference in Sunday’s election
A blog post from a member of the Japan Institute of Law and Information Systems went viral for stating Russian bots were interfering in the upcoming Upper House election.

Your local shrine maiden here with a friendly reminder to please not rely on ChatGPT as a source for knowledge on Shinto

ChatGPT can’t discern between sources that are legitimately verifiable or not in English, so relying on it to explain the more delicate, detailed aspects of Shinto is unwise

I completely forgot to post this here, but I recently received "An Illustrated Guide to Japanese God's and Shrines"(日本の神様と神社の教科書), a book written by Shibuya Nobuhiro(渋谷 申博), a researcher in the history of religions who continues to conduct field research at jinja (神社) and otera(お寺) throughout Japan.

Trump, Putin (or "Trumputin", lol) and Xi Jinping have lots of similarities and shared interests and all of them do make our world more and more tyrannic. No matter where we are from, we shall collaborate together and strengthen our civil societies in order to continue to fight back against them. 🙏

Happy #ToriiTuesday! The series will resume soon (if I can catch a break).

My bestie & I found this GOLD Inari shrine at Zuiryūji 瑞龍寺 in Ōmi-Hachiman this weekend & I may have fangirled way too hard. 😂🌟⛩️

Kinsei Inari Daimyōjin 金生稲荷大明神 is now collecting donations to restore the #torii to glory.

Today I practiced making shide (紙垂), a zigzag paper on a shimenawa rope (注連縄) or other sacred objects (in my case a sakaki branch 榊) that signifies the sacred power/presence of Kami-sama.
This is much better than my very first attempts (*﹏*;)

The Shinto Shrine of Shusse Inari 🦊⛩️ in America want to make the first mobile shrine. Then they can make Shinto traditions and ceremonies more accessible. They're closing in on their deadline and not quite to their goal yet. Donations are tax deductible.

I practiced folding shikigami (敷紙) paper for the sanbo (三方) offering trays.
I am incredibly grateful to @livingwithkami.bsky.social for the guidance on how to do it as correctly and formally as possible.
It's still not perfect, so I need time to study and practice (^_^メ)

I continue to add Shinto books to my small collection.
Today I received the "New Guide to the Etiquette of Holding Shrine Ceremonies and Festivals" (新神社祭式行事作法教本) written by Numabe Harutomo (沼部 春友), an honorable guji (宮司) of Suga Jinja (須賀神社).

Today is March 5th in Japan, which means it’s Miko day (巫女の日)! Not an official holiday, but definitely observed by those who practice or are interested in Shinto.

Why March 5? Because of the play on words!

3 can be read as “mi” (三)
5 can be read as “ko” (五)

As a Miko, I love today!
