On July 4, 1776, Americans declared to the world their belief in freedom, not despotism.

249 years later Americans all across the country remain true to those beliefs.

YES to freedom. NO to despotism.

Gonna try to not think about news this weekend and enjoy family time.

Because come Monday, I have questions galore for my workplace. And I expect at least a plan of how we're going to fight to provide all needed services to the public.

The fight takes a new shape and style but we still fight.

Shame on Republicans in Congress for passing this dangerous legislation. The mission is clear: flip 3 seats in the House and 4 in the Senate. Our nation depends on it.

More Medicaid enrollees are voting Republican. So, why did the GOP slash deeply into the health insurance program in their megabill?

There are three main reasons.
Why Republicans can’t quit Medicaid cuts
The politics of the party have shifted, with more of the GOP base reliant on welfare programs. But policy hasn’t followed.

I think I saw this on tiktok but someone said, "you may not need medicaid, but your local hospital does"
In a waiting room, and this lady chatting w/ the receiptionist is doing a great job explaining the actual impact of the DOGE cuts: *everyone* at her office laid off, what kinds of programs they do & who they help (kids), what's happening w the injunction. These personal stories need more attention!

Republicans’ Big Ugly Budget Bill threatens access to food for millions of Americans — and Virginia food banks are crying out for help.

The Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore worries that massive cuts to SNAP will overwhelm food banks’ ability to help those in need.
Local food bank urges lawmakers to reject GOP spending bill
"Cuts [to SNAP] of this magnitude would result in a surge in local need, one that no food bank could possibly meet on its own," the statement read.

Important info for your awareness!
Some 💩 went down at SSA today, and it’s not great so let’s talk about it 🫠 TLDR version: effective 7/3, 40-50% of the CSR (customer service rep) staff will be reassigned to answering the national 1800#. This decision was made without input from any regional, area, or teleservice center leadership.

Everyone should call/contact their Reps regardless of party. Use your voice. Be loud. Encourage others to join you. If you have a Republican Rep you MUST call, and fight 👇

Instead of paying $10 for diabetic medication, we'll pay $10,000 for an amputation.

Help share so that everyone understands and speaks out AGAINST this Big Ugly Bill.

We’d recommend starting with someone who already has 34 felony convictions before proposing anything like that. It’s an absurd and unconstitutional idea and the fact that it’s being floated at all is deeply troubling.

As this bill on GOP Medicaid cuts goes back to the House, it’s not too late to remind Washington politicians just how much is at stake.

Congressman Gabe Evans is about to vote on whether to kick millions of Americans off health care.

He's refused to hold town halls to hear from his own constituents, so I went to his office to read the words of a person in his district who could badly suffer, or die, without Medicaid.

That is what they are death camps.

SS part duh.
Concentration camps on American soil. Masked agents terrorizing our neighbors and abducting people off the streets to fill them.

As if that weren’t horrific enough—some so-called “Christians” are cheering it on like it’s some kind of twisted, dehumanization porn.

What the hell have we become?

I’m proud that all Democrats supported my amendment last night to expand Medicare to cover dental, hearing and vision paid for by cutting prescription drug costs for Medicare in half.

No Republicans voted for it.
