#GVerse Rob Reiner spent decades defending democracy and fighting for equality - even when it wasn’t easy or popular. At a moment when silence is safer, his willingness to speak out is a reminder that protecting democracy requires courage.

#Repost to honor Reiner's legacy of justice ♥️

There are things every one of us can do in our daily lives to help ensure free and fair elections — and, in doing so, limit Trump’s power. Some actions are small — so small that you might dismiss them as unimportant. Don’t. Every important journey begins with a single step.
We Have More Power Than Trump Wants Us To Believe — Here's What You Can Do
From Marc | Here is a list of what each of us can do to stand up for democracy and defend our elections.

I'd just like to spare a thought for the murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi today.

Brian Kilmeade thinks America has "moved past" his horrifying assassination.

I haven't. And I doubt I'm alone.

I have spent a blissful 30 minutes following all of the alt national parks accounts on Bluesky and now I’m going to go and find the alt government agencies and probably the Great Lakes and volcano accounts, which used to be my favorite part of Twitter. Please let me know if there’s anything else!

Everyone that’s helping this be our reality should be publicly shunned & shamed.

A poem for lightness and hope.

Everything is on fire,
but everyone I love is doing beautiful things
and trying to make life worth living,
and I know I don’t have to believe in everything,
but I believe in that.

The current state of world affairs is devastating.
I’m not sure how to tell people (family) they don’t need to share the daily devastation with those of us who are deeply empathetic

In future generations, when your children and grandchildren look back on this moment, they are not going to ask about the price of eggs. They are going to ask you what you did. Not what you felt. Not what you paid. But what you did. And I want to be able to say I did everything I possibly could.

We are going to see political investigations and prosecutions.

The question is whether the public, the courts and the media will recognize and call them out as political. Will they stand up against them or will people stay silent and allow them to continue.

We are deeply concerned about the current state of our country. As civil servants, we are doing everything in our power to resist, even if it costs us our jobs. We are proud to be Americans, but what is happening right now does not reflect the values we, as Americans, stand for!

I love this so much!

At the inauguration, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wore a distinctive collar adorned with cowrie shells, which are believed to offer protection from evil in African traditions.

This choice mirrors the late Justice Ginsburg’s practice of using collars to convey a message.

Martin Luther King Jr. said that “the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge.” We are in a time of challenge.

The question for every leader, every citizen is where do you stand?
