I’ve mostly kept my opinion to myself. But, I think we’re seeing the critique of utilitarianism in real time. Extending a shutdown does benefit the greater good. However, it does so to the detriment of furloughed workers and SNAP recipients. Many of those affected do support extending the shutdown.

At the start of the fourth quarter, the Steelers had a chance to make this a one possession game… and then they turned it over on downs in the red zone. And they were losing TOP by 11 minutes at the time. Literally any offense at all and they may have had a chance in this game.
