And he didn’t. He tried to help a woman who’d just been assaulted. There was nothing rash, stupid, or radical about what he did. He showed kindness. And they killed him for it.

Not a “paid protester.”

Not an Antifa battalion commander.

Not “bussed in from out of state.”

The funny thing about this standard MAGA response to protest is that in this case not only is it once again a lie, but the people they’re protesting — immigration officers — are literally paid agitators and chaos agents from out of state.
Emmer: "The people you're seeing in these videos, the vast majority of them I do not believe are from Minnesota. These are organized chaos agents, paid agitators. The vast majority of Minnesotans that are talking to me appreciate that law enforcement has arrived, and they are happy they're there."

Unbelievable. At least he is upfront and there can be no more ambiguity.
In Trump's telling, the US are the equivalent of the Nazis
Trump: "No nation is in any position to be able to secure Greenland other than the US. We're a great power. Much greater than people even understand. I think they found that out 2 weeks ago in Venezuela. We saw this in World War 2 when Denmark fell to Germany after just 6 hours of fighting."

Going from Mark Carney’s speech to Donald Trump’s press briefing was like going from an iPhone to two styrofoam cups and some string.

If by no other measure, those Trump supporters in debt and barely scraping by should reconsider their support of a man who's primary interest in the presidency has been to enrich and aggrandize himself. He couldn't care less about the sheep getting fleeced. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Mark Carney gave the best speech at Davos by far. He understands the situation with clarity while others prevaricate, appease, and send late-night “Dear Donald” texts or call him “daddy.”

Credit where credit is due - Carney tells it straight and lays out what is at stake with the understanding that more bullying will come. This level of spine has been sorely lacking and hopefully the leaders of Europe and other allies will similarly pick up the torch. www.cnn.com/politics/liv...

Carney: "American hegemony in particular helped provide public goods, a stable financial system... this bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition... recently, great powers have begun using economic integration as a weapon. Tariffs as leverage ... "

Good for Carney, stating it simply and plainly.
Carney: "We stand firmly with Greenland and Denmark and fully support their unique right to determine Greenland's future. Our commitment to NATO's Article 5 is unwavering ... Canada strongly opposes tariffs over Greenland"

I know we're well into the age of Nothing Matters nihilism, but it's darkly hilarious that after Republican lickspittles spent the weekend arguing that Greenland is essential to U.S. national security, we learn that Trump would've dropped the entire project if he could get a medal for his ego wall.
