You think you’re so sensible and making the tough decisions but you have no idea how much genuine nastiness there is here, you think you can beat Reform by solemnly enacting their policies, but those people don’t want solemnity or false regret, they want hate, they want pain
to clarify, what I'm saying that the outcome of every single UK political vote in my adult life has been very obvious to me and if it's your job to know about these things and you've ever been wrong about it you need to spend more time in pubs in abandoned industrial towns and nasty little villages
years ago at Sidmouth folk festival there were some people doing one of those 'ohh Jeremy Corbyn' chants and the creep standing next to me said that he was really worried where this mindless populism would lead us, and I kind of want to look him up and ask him how he feels about that statement now

not saying it can't get worse but this week really feels like a straightforward depiction of what worst-case 'post truth' information apocalypse ppl were warning of in the late 2010s

Hey look, it's more "cognitive amplification."
LLM users also struggled to accurately quote their own work. While LLMs offer immediate convenience, our findings highlight potential cognitive costs. Over four months, LLM users consistently underperformed at neural, linguistic, and behavioral levels.
unlike this study which actually does establish a causal relationship between using LLMs and cognitive decline arxiv.org/abs/2506.08872

Our company is in a pretty weird spot. On one hand we're getting invited to prestigious award shows and getting a lot of validation for our games. On the other hand we can't even afford the entry price.

GAME DEVS. I got tired of mind maps spaghetti, so I built a game design tool that lets me see exactly what I need to see. It lets you scrub dependency depth: see only direct connections, or expand the chain when you need it.

This is for people who design games, let me know what you think 👀

So the new Fatboy Slim video is slop. Totally forgettable. A technology that inspires the tamest, most trivial, boring ideas. "What if the Rolling Stones and Fatboy Slim were young and playing this song?"

Board room drivel.

Valve has now rejected my complaint, confirming that "I don't like muslims" is a valid reason to leave a negative review on a game on Steam

This is where we're at now.

I have many thoughts about this, one is I can't help but think this is all just shining a light on how games are still being held to wildly different standards than other media like film. I've played very few games like HORSES but watched so many films like it (as a connoisseur of arthouse horror).

If the main channels of music distribution infrastructure on the internet are going to continue to enshittify themselves to death, the only logical response is to enact a digital dubplate mentality in your community both IRL and URL.

+1 @starkholborn.bsky.social and I talked about this so much when we were working on it (for years 😅 ). Burying narrative/meaning/theme into every corner. Making strong connections between disciplines, mise en scene etc. etc. A privilege to be on a project where that was rewarded, encouraged.
Love this from @starkholborn.bsky.social ’s talk about Shadow of Doubt - about making sure you‘re putting story absolutely *everywhere*

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.
