There’s a few internet people that have been pretty foundational in shaping my life the way it is now. Prime is one of the more recent ones and it take me a while to get past the flashy personality but hot damn am I happy to have stayed a bit.

I feel like half-parroting Paul is an important stepping stone for any ATProto enthousiast (AThousiast?) at this point tbh

My mouse doesn't work properly because Logitech let one of their server certificates expire, so now their config software fails. What a time to be alive.

I know "it's always DNS, no way it's DNS, it was DNS" is a bit of an overplayed joke but.

I spent the better part of the last two days figuring out why my terraform/azure/domain thing was sometimes working, turns out corpo windows policies bork DNS queries when not connected to corpo network oops.

I'm increasingly convinced that many Atmosphere backends start with a local "witness cache" of the repositories.

A witness cache is a copy of the repository records, plus a timestamp of when the record was indexed (the "witness time") which you want to keep

The key feature is: you can replay it

The prompt itself is an adapted version of the quoted post, given some personal context, and then self-preferentially iterated a few times. I'm not super sure where the physical pain thing comes from, probably removing that as it feels not great.

(ignore the mediocre theming, it's git-bash on a work windows laptop)

can't share too much because I'm paid for this code but this was very funny and actually productive. maybe I'll put an adversarial thing in a docker compose setup for something more hobby-oriented tomorrow, just to try it out.

thanks for the inspiration @dollspace.gay !

I borrowed and adapted this with permission. It was both thrilled at doing multilevel rebase-oriented stacked diffs and exasperated at some of the more questionable choices I made earlier today. 10/10 would get roasted again.

finally created an archive of my Formerly Twitter account so I can delete it, the whole password reset / oauth / archive flow shat the bed three times, one for every step of the process.

Honestly incredible, excited to raise the bar here a bit on ATProto

This post by @jimray.bsky.team effectively describes why I'm betting my limited free time on #ATProto
