New, from an anonymous NIH insider: Trump is being pushed to spend more NIH money. The White House is ordering NIH to do multi-year budgets for awards. This budget trick means fewer awards, fewer labs funded, and lower paylines for researchers. 🧵

Heard from #AHRQ that the entire grants staff has been let go! They are unable to issue funds for grants already funded, let alone fund new grants. This is outrageous and will make Americans poorer and sicker. Why? A brief thread about just some recent AHRQ-funded research: #MedSky #HealthPolicy

Looks like the NIH has quietly updated the parent T32 NOFO, issued Nov 15, 2024, to remove all mention of & requirements for "diversity" (since they apparently still cannot issue new NOFOs - NIH Guide has not been updated since Jan 22, except for rogue F&A Notice). Data tables updated March 18, 2025
