I want life - all life - to go on.
Beef is atrociously awful for our planet. Feed gobbles up land, and so does grazing. Every day of their lives, cattle belch up methane, a greenhouse gas 80 times more potent than CO2. And cattle are years old when they are killed, adding to their impact. www.fooddive.com/news/tyson-c...
Tyson to stop selling ‘climate-smart’ beef as part of lawsuit settlement
The meat giant will also no longer say it can reach net-zero emissions by 2050 as part of the agreement, which comes as environmental groups pressure companies to back up sustainability claims.

Your individual actions really do matter. Every single one of us can make a change. So, while we need to deal with the billionaires, who are responsible for most of the pollution, we need to recognize that when we conserve and choose not to pollute we save money and make a real difference.

❄️ It’s freezing cold outside here in Germany, and this is an interesting explainer of why that is: a warming event in the polar region is leading to an early collapse of the polar vortex, so Europe and North America are flooded with cold air, while the North Pole is unusually warm. #weather #climate

Methane is many times more heating than CO2, and it keeps going up and up. There is no way around the biological reality that beef and dairy bovines burp up methane. There is not going to be a magical fix. We need to offramp on beef and dairy.
