The reaction to the post was disproportionate and the reaction to the reaction was disproportionate. If anything this is a great indicative of how painfully on the edge most of us are.

we also really need to prevent the mindset that posting is a form of political action, short of actually going outside, because so many people think aggro'ing enemies online is the same as building a public, imo
