I already pay BCBS over 1/4 of my Texas teacher retirement check. I’m terrified to open letters about next year’s rates…
I don't understand why I see things so differently. I see a health insurance industry that thinks it's entitled to charge people 1/3rd of their income for healthcare. That industry shouldn't be "fixed." It should be burned to the ground and its ashes pissed on.

I was a 5th grade teacher, still wet behind the ears, when it happened. I was watching the TV in the teachers’ lounge when the 2nd tower was hit, and being told to not say anything to the kids…I remember the parents’ fear as they came and collected their children early throughout the day.
I wasn’t there. I didn’t know anyone who was killed, and I didn’t know anyone who knew anyone who was killed. I was 14 and a high school freshman in Central Texas and over 1,700 miles away when it happened.

While I firmly believe violence is never a good choice, I can’t say I’m sad he’s dead, and I’m having a *really* difficult time dredging up deepest sympathies.
I suppose a shallow sympathy to his family is the best I can manage at the moment.
