Today I encouraged my colleagues to be cagey and selective when it comes to assessing student work as evidence of Extending proficiency.

Extending is NOT:

⭐️ Writing more paragraphs than required
⭐️ A beautiful model
⭐️ Solving all Math problems correctly

Hey #BCed colleagues, resist the urge to assess the work of the student who submitted 4x what the success criteria required as 'Extending.'

A higher quantity of work does NOT equal greater proficiency.
